Cookies

We don’t use advertising or social media cookies. We only use Google Analytics cookies if you accept them in the banner, and you can change your mind on this page. Last updated 8 October 2026.

Analytics cookies: your choice

With your permission we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets the two cookies below. Nothing is loaded from Google, and no analytics cookie is set, unless you accept.

NameTypeWhat it’s forHow long
_gaCookie, Google Analytics (only if you accept)A random ID that tells one visitor from another, so we can count visits and returning visitors.2 years
_ga_26K6YMPVVQCookie, Google Analytics (only if you accept)Keeps track of the current visit across pages.2 years

Google Analytics reports the pages you view, roughly where you are (town or region, not your address), your device and browser, and how you reached us. We don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t turn on Google’s advertising features. Google acts for us in running it, and may process the data outside the UK. Choosing “Turn off” stops it and deletes the cookies.

Other things we store in your browser

NameTypeWhat it’s forHow long
Dog profileLocal storageRemembers the dog details you entered so we can show daily costs and fit. Only set when you save a profile, and never sent to us.Until you clear it
Saved foodsLocal storageRemembers the foods you saved to look at later. Only set when you save a food, and never sent to us.Until you clear it

UK law allows storage that’s strictly necessary for a service you’ve asked for without asking first. The dog profile and saved foods only exist because you created them, and you can delete them from the profile panel and the saved foods page.

Our own staff sign-in uses one security cookie on the admin pages. Visitors never receive it.

When you leave our site

When you click through to a retailer, you’re on their website and their cookie policy applies. If the link is an affiliate link (food pages say so beside the prices), the retailer or its affiliate network may set a cookie to record that we referred you. That cookie is theirs, not ours.
