How we’re funded

We plan to fund Dog Food Reviewed through retailer affiliate links. Commission can pay for the work, but it can’t buy a score. Here’s exactly what it can and can’t affect.

When we might earn money

If a retailer link is marked as an affiliate link and you buy through it, the retailer may pay us a commission. You don’t pay more. Right now none of our price links are affiliate links, so we earn nothing from them. Food pages will say so beside the prices when that changes.

What commission can never change

  • A food’s DFR score, or any of the points behind it
  • Where a food appears in a ranking or a “best for” list
  • Which foods are shown, or whether a food is checked
  • Ingredient warnings, missing-data notices or raw food safety evidence
  • Whether we show a cheaper retailer that doesn’t pay us

The scoring code has no access to prices or commission, and automated tests check that this stays true. See how we rate.

How prices are ordered

Prices are ordered by value (cost per kg, or per day once you’ve added your dog), never by what we might earn. Each price shows the pack size, stock status and the date we saw it. Delivery varies, so costs are shown excluding delivery and we never treat unknown delivery as free.

Your privacy when you click through

Retailer links go through our own redirect. Your dog’s name, age, weight and other details stay in your browser and are never added to the link.

Tell us about your dog

Saved only in this browser. Your dog’s details are never sent to us or to any retailer.
