Where our data comes from

Every fact on a food page (ingredients, nutrition, energy, pack sizes and prices) comes from a published source we keep a dated copy of. If a source doesn’t say something, we show “Not on label” rather than fill the gap.

What’s in the current release

The current release was published on 5 October 2026 and lists 2,733 checked recipes. 2,471 of them have a score; prescription diets and labels we can’t read are listed without one. It’s built from public product pages at three UK retailers, Zooplus, Pets at Home and Jollyes, which show each food’s ingredients, analytical constituents, pack sizes and price.

  • One page per recipe. When the same recipe is sold by more than one retailer, or in several pack sizes, we merge it into one food and list every price we found.
  • A second check before publishing. Each record is checked against other published information about the food, such as the maker’s own page or another retailer’s listing. Records that don’t pass stay hidden until they do.
  • Nothing is guessed. Missing fat, fibre or energy figures stay missing. We never estimate them from similar foods.
  • Prices are dated. Each price shows when we saw it. Delivery charges vary, so costs are shown excluding delivery.

Reference sources

We use official sources for context, never as proof that a particular pack is safe:

What we won’t do

  • Copy other review sites’ descriptions, scores or images.
  • Collect anything behind a login or paywall.
  • Collect customer reviews or anyone’s personal data.
  • Publish a price against a food unless the pack and recipe match.

Labels change. If our record doesn’t match the pack in front of you, report it and we’ll check it against the source. Brands can send us current label artwork too.
